The core LUCY team comprises senior pentesters, awareness trainers and IT-security auditors who have been in the business for 20 years. We have long understood that most customers have a holistic need to increase their IT Security and their organizations’ awareness against cyber threats. All successful APTs use a mixture of Social Engineering activities and malware. In order to gain substantial improvements in this area, policies, people and systems have to constantly evolve together in a balanced manner. Attackers from cyberspace will have a higher probability to succeed if there are flaws in one of these bulwarks of IT Security.

LUCY’s Marketing & Sales Strategy:
We see our product as THE ‘cybersecurity crash test dummy’ or THE ‘Swiss Army Knife for People & Tech Testing and Training’. There is already a well-developed market for products and services in the areas of data security, protection for and guarding of organizations’ IT systems and employees. LUCY, by contrast, markets to a different and, in the past, often neglected area: The training, education and evolution of people and technology using
- technical social engineering (Phishing and SMiShing simulations, Media-Attacks)
- awareness trainings
- technical testing and assessments (Malware and Ransomware simulations, SIEM Testing).
LUCY is selling its product directly to end customers and through a network of Value-Added Resellers. We recognized that there is increasing demand from customers to phish and hack themselves. On the other hand, many customers still prefer to source such services from specialized and competent IT-security vendors, which are able to refine LUCY’s functionality or even provide a fully customized service based on LUCY.
Our Product Strategy:
We recognize that there is a rising demand for a Cloud-based product, but also that the need for local, on-premise installation of LUCY continues unabated. We also see that the requirements for the use of the product are often linked to a company’s size and/or specialization. The various Editions we offer are aligned to meet these differing requirements, with most users only requiring the LUCY Community Edition, which is available for free.
When it comes to the commercial editions, our company follows an unusual path: Unlike most other vendors in this field, LUCY’s product editions are mainly not sold on a per-user basis. Instead, as a product company, we prefer to place the functionalities our product offers in the foreground, rather than the number of users using it!
